Coach Baxter co-founded RESULTS in 2011 with the mission of using his teaching skills and extensive hoops background to help develop the fundamental skills of Maine's youth basketball players. Mark brings over 20 years of coaching experience to RESULTS Basketball. Baxter started his coaching career at the high school level with successful stints as a varsity coach at Central Aroostook High School and Fort Kent High School.
Since then, Coach Baxter has been heavily involved with collegiate athletics. He served as the Assistant Coach of Men's Basketball at Husson University from 2007-2010, coaching the Eagles to a NAC Championship and 1st trip to the NCAA Tournament in program history in 2009.
At Husson, Mark was in charge of recruiting, scouting, and practice plans for all post players. He recruited two eventual 1000 point scorers to Husson, and helped develop 3 NAC 1st team selections during his time with the Eagles.
After leaving Husson, Mark has worked as an advanced scout/consultant for several mid-major NCAA DI collegiate basketball programs across the country. His duties include breaking down opposing team's offensive/defensive schemes and developing in-depth scouting reports to help assist teams prepare for their upcoming opponents.
Coach Baxter has worked on staff at many elite basketball camps across the United States including Adidas ABCD, Nike Elite, and Five Star Basketball Camp where he had the opportunity to coach many current & former NBA players including Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, Rajon Rondo, and Chris Paul to name a few.
Baxter regularly trains 20-25 players on a weekly basis year round, with a training territory covering Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, Deer Isle, and surrounding coastal towns. In addition to coaching/training with RESULTS, Mark teaches fifth grade in Blue Hill, Maine, and lives in Ellsworth with his wife Bree, and two kids Isaac and Tyrus.
Matt MacKenzie co-founded RESULTS in 2011 with the mission of using his teaching skills and hoops background to help develop the fundamental skills of Maine's youth basketball players.
Coach MacKenzie is currently in his 7th season an Assistant Coach at NCAA DIII Husson University.
Prior to joining the Eagles' coaching staff, MacKenzie was a four-year letterwinner as a member of the Husson men’s basketball team as a forward from 2007-10. He tallied 1,300 points, 565 rebounds, 51 assists, 73 steals and 38 blocks in 105 career games played. The senior captain helped guide the Eagles to the program’s first NAC Championship and berth to the NCAA DIII National Championship tournament in 2009, while being named the NAC Tournament MVP, 1st Team All-Conference, and 1st Team All-Maine. He also lead Husson to two NAC Regular Season Titles in 2007 and 2009 and a NAC Runner-Up finish in 2008.
The All-NAC selection ranks 20th all time in points scored, 10th all-time in free throws attempted (446), 12th in the field goal percentage (.572), 18th in field goals made (539) and blocks, tied for 18th in blocked shots.
Off the court, MacKenzie earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court in 2009 and 2010.
MacKenzie earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Husson in 2010 and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Athletic Administration from the University of Arkansas. He regularly trains 20-25 players weekly year round, with a training territory covering Bangor, Brewer, Hampden, Old-Town, Orono and their outlying towns.
A native of Warren, Maine, MacKenzie attended Medomak Valley High School. He and his wife, Erin live in Brewer, Maine.
RESULTS Basketball is dedicated to improving a basketball player's fundamental skill set one step at a time. All activities & drills are developmentally appropriate, safe, yet exciting & challenging for each player. All instruction is taught with the overall goal in mind: Helping each player reach their basketball goals and seeing RESULTS!
